It’s
not too late to join us on the rally at Newstead Abbey which is being
held over the weekend of 5th to 7th June. The rally is held on a field
immediately at the back of the abbey and the rally fee
includes entry to the abbey's extensive parkland and gardens (300
acres).
There’s
lots to do on site over the weekend including house tours (and the
Heart of Medieval Newstead exhibition), maybe take the kids on the
family trail where they can find clues and win a prize at the end, or
explore the Walled Gardens’ lush ferns and rockeries as well as the
sunken Japanese Oasis; boasting streams and stepping stones, bamboo
groves and wild crayfish. Look for the old fort and waterfall, feed the
ducks and swans or the peacocks that roam around the grounds.
There’s
also a lovely tea room in the courtyard where you can enjoy a nice
coffee or other refreshments (most weekends, there's also an ice-cream
van parked at the front of the abbey).
The
marshals will be organising a get together each evening with some
entertainment and background music (in the Coleman Shelters if the
weather isn't great). We'd love to see you there! Follow this link for
