Fabulous weather for another fabulous rally at the Blue Bell in Lound. There were 15 outfits out to enjoy the sunshine including our marshals who provided us with a relaxing free and easy weekend. Our thanks go out to Gary Bishop, Dawn Bishop JulieSteven Widdowson and not forgetting Chester for their effort and company.

Friday was a lovely and relaxing evening by the vans or in the Colemans. Saturday was another glorious day of sunshine, some went for a walk, some enjoyed the pub and some even went to the ballet. It was ovely to see children out on the rally field playing together and you know they've had fun when they came home as filthy as Charlie Barnes did!

Saturday evening was spent socialising with friends in the Colemans where.........Dean Richardson and co. won the quiz!! Well done Dean (and Sharon and Martin and Sue). We were also given lots of handy gardening tips from Ian Williamson during a game of sticky 13's.

There were no birthdays or anniversaries this weekend but we did have a moment of silence to remember our former chairman Brian Burkey who sadly passed away on Friday. Brian was the centre chairman from 1987 to 1989 and was a great presence on the rally field. Brian will be sadly missed and our thoughts go out to his family at this sad time.

29 JUNE - 1 JULY 2018

Thank you to the Landowners Paul and Ian for allowing us to rally over the weekend 29th June - 1st July at Shelt Hill Fisheries. 32 Outfits attended the rally which provided us with beautiful sunshine in a lovely relaxing venue.

We welcomed visitors from East Yorkshire, Derbyshire and first time Notts ralliers the Gretton - Fisher family, who we hope to see out again on the rally field soon.Everyone made the most of the great weather with many making the most of the fishing, frequenting the local hostelries or by just relaxing on the rally field socialising with friends and family.

On Saturday we held an members Open Forum on the rally field and I wish to thank all those who attended. Many thanks to Anne as we all enjoyed the refreshments provided especially the homemade cakes. A special mention at flag was Jill and Roy Taylors Diamond Wedding Anniversary and we were treated to a view of the special card they had received from the Queen. Many thanks to our Marshals Jane and Paul Tomkinson, Helen and Dave Pickering for a great rally.

22-24 JUNE 2018

We had 10 Vans out on the fields this weekend, 11 kids in total against Leicester who had 30ish vans and 35kids at least! I am super proud how close the contest was and it was down to 2 points. Ok we didn't win the trophy but everyone on the Notts field took part and helped. From the Ladies in the netball and volly ball who really didn't want to have to take to the field but put on the kit for the team (special thanks to Ella for joining the adults vollyball) Men's volly ball, football which we took Gold in and silver in the Tug of War. Massive well done to the lawn darts team who also took Gold with 2 juniors Henry and Chloe (peg leg) jumping in to help out. Many thanks to the kibarts for jumping in to help with the Pentanque.

What can I say. We had 11 kids who did their own age football and netball, plus the age above. 11 year olds competing against 14 year olds. All should be super proud of themselves, I am. Special mention to Chloe who arrived injured, but still took to the track and crossed the finish line with a beaming smile on her face.
As sports officer, I am so proud of what we have achieved and will build on this for next year.

Thank you to all those members who attended the Intercentre rally last weekend at Prestwold Hall which was successfully hosted by the Leicestershire centre. We were treated to evening entertainment on both Friday and Saturday. Every single person from Notts entered into the true spirit of the weekend and we were proud to enter a team for every event. We may not have brought home the silverware but it was amazing to know we gave our best and very nearly did retain the Bill Peck trophy missing out by only 2 points. The weekend provided many moments of fun and friendly competition between new and old friends, including first time Notts ralliers Martin Critchley and Sue Bradbury who helped us win football, volleyball and lawn darts. Our children did us proud and gave 100% running their own races and more besides to ensure others could compete. It is good see our neighbouring centres joining together for laughter and friendship and I look forward to next year when we will try to reclaim the silverware. Thank you to Sean (Sports Officer) and Jen Richardson for all their hardwork you were both brilliant.

15-17 JUNE 2018

A beautiful rally field this weekend was the venue for 17 caravans and motorhomes from the Notts Centre at Lyndon Top adjacent to Rutland Water.

Thanks to our marshals Helen and Ian Williamson, Jackie and Ray Dixon for making sure we all had a great weekend.

Many of us enjoyed the 17 mile circular ride around the water, with others going for walks, bird watching or visiting the local garden centre.

Saturday evening was spent in the Coleman shelters completing a quiz with a World Cup theme whilst a TV in the corner allowed people to keep up-to-date with the actual football scores. Stand up bingo and a supper of hot dogs completed our evening.

Thanks once again to our marshals for a super weekend.

8-10 JUNE 2018

Twenty caravans and motorhomes were on the rally field this weekend at Elvaston Castle including our marshals and visitors from Leicestershire, Derbyshire, Lincolnshire and South Staffordshire. Thanks to Becky, Jamie, Maicy and Deacon Reed, Claire, Lee and Isaac Bond for all their hard work in making the weekend a success.

Friday evening was a relaxed social in the Coleman shelters.

Saturday was a chance to walk around the beautiful grounds with a stop at the tea shop for refreshments. In the afternoon Kate Fennelly organised military themed games for children and adults in keeping with the weekend theme of D day celebrations. The assault course was tiring but the Lancaster bomber was a wet affair for engine 3. It was good for those watching to enjoy a relaxed drink in the sunshine.

On Saturday evening we enjoyed a beautiful buffet supper whilst having a good old fashioned sing song in the patriotic decorated Coleman's.

Our intelligence was pushed to the limit with a quiz set by Jamie unfortunately the winning score was 4 which said it all.

Happy birthday to Ian Williamson and Gary Sipson. Congratulations to Alice Sipson for winning the Fancy dress as a Land girl.

Thanks once again to the marshals.

The 2018 National Caravan and Motorhome Club Rally

25-30 MAY 2018

The 2018 National Caravan and Motorhome Club Rally at Sledmere was a great success and thanks go to all those who attended from the Nottinghamshire Centre.

The setting was beautiful and many members enjoyed a walk around the house and gardens. Well done to all those children who took part in the children's races on Saturday and a special mention to Ella Orchard for completing the Fun Run with myself on Monday.

Thank you to Sean Richardson, with assistance from Nick Orchard and Alex Phillips for organising the weekend sports which our members took part in successfully including Football, Lawn Darts and our annual Tug of War match against the Welsh.

This year we also had people from Nottinghamshire competing in the baking and crafts competition, dog show, and our very own CAMC Talent Show Winner.

Throughout the weekend it was good to see the Notts members trying the many free activities which included the Orchard family coming down the zip wire with the vicar.

I understand the annual bike ride was very hilly this year but once again our members took part and received their goody bags as a reward.

On Sunday Notts Centre held a charity stall in the arena as part of the Nationals Wedding Fete where "Pick Your Gift or Drink" was a huge success and we made £170.

A donation was made to the CAMC Chairman's charity and the remainder is for our centres charity to be named at the next AGM.

The evening and day entertainment throughout the weekend was brilliant and there seemed to be something for everyone.

On Sunday we held a Cheese and Wine reception for all those in the Central Region Block with a Nottinghamshire address which was well received and we hope to see some new friends out on future rallies soon.

Thank you to you all for your support and enthusiasm over the weekend. See you all next year at Ragley Hall Warwickshire.

The sun has shone all weekend and everyone enjoyed the free and easy theme. Over the weekend many enjoyed sightseeing around the local area including Dovedale, Matlock and Chatsworth whilst many also relaxed by their vans or by visiting the two local pubs.
