After
the teens saw all the caravans on the rally field in the bitter cold,
the teenagers delighted us with a game of Panda Racing. This was a really
good night with nibbles being provided. The adults as usual got a little
excited and there was a Panda stand off between Andy Carlile and Darren
Pilgrim as to who won. Jackie Carlile was very vocal in her support so
Ian decided to shut her up and declare Andy the winner, much to the disgust
of Paul Hickling (the official adjudicator).
Saturday morning was very busy getting ready for the Kid’s crèche,
party games and food. There were a number of activities laid out for the
children including card making, play doh, decorating gingerbreads and
table tennis. The kids all seem to have a great time. The kids were finally
collected by their parents and the rest of the gang were left to clean
up and get ready for the tea dance.
The tea dance was again well supported and was run by Glenis Pilgrim (thank
you Glenis). Cream teas were served throughout the event.
Even though the weather could have been better the children enjoyed the
football and games organised by sports officer Ian.
Saturday night all the teenage committee looked very smart and were ready
to serve us all with Sausage, Chips and PEA’S (maybe no peas next
time). With the amount of planning involved with this supper I thought
the evening went brilliantly and the food was great. We then had flag
and all of the girls were thanked for all their hard work with flowers
and chocolates. Thank you to the Derbyshire members for donating the bottle
for the whisky game.
I would just like to say a special thanks to Tina Bailey who arranged
and helped the Committee co-ordinate this event.
After a hectic weekend they managed to raise £187.80 towards their
funds. Thank you to everyone who donated raffle prizes.
Thanks again for a great weekend!
