NATIONAL RALLY 2008 – Holkham Hall
Well the weekend started off well - it was dry!!!! We arrived on the Thursday evening as block marshals and were presently surprised at how close we were to the action as last year at Blenheim Palace there were no caravans after ours!!! The first van to arrive was no surprise it was Gill and Andy Kirkland! The vans arrived at a steady pace and we all got acclimatised to where everything was.
It was an action packed weekend and well done to everyone who took part in any event. Roll on next year to Prestwold Hall in Leicestershire:
Lawn Darts - Edwin and Jayne Young, Alex and Christian Pass

- Team 1 - Andrea Pilgrim and Sam Yeomans, Team 2 - Gill Hitch and Amanda

Quiz Team - Gill Hitch, Richard Hitch, Gill Kirkland and Lorraine Austin - who scored more losing their round than some teams did to win their matches!
Darts - Lee and Lorraine Austin - never mind better luck next year!!
Cake Baking - Wendy Hammett
Children's sports - Jordan Austin, Hannah
Whitby and Holly Pilgrim (who came second in her event)
Men's VolleyBall - Paul Hickling, Mick Yeomans, Andy Carlile, Ian Pilgrim, Lee Austin, Grant Hammett, John Guest and Kevin Chetwynd
Ladies Volleyball - Lorraine Austin, Kimberley Hammett, Sam Yeomans, Andrea Pilgrim, Tina Bailey, Gill Hitch (who did better than the men this year!!!!)
Under 16's Netball - Gemma Bailey, Laura Bailey, Katie Hickling, Georgina Yeomans, Kirstie Guest, Jessica Pickering, Amy Pilgrim, Kat Price - well done girls - just missed out going through to the next round - they did really well as they are such a young team.
Under 15's football - Jordan Austin, Liam (the Cat) Hammett, Matt Newcombe, Joe Allman, Katie Hickling and Kirstie Guest - we have something to live up to with this event as we had played Cheshire in the final for the last two years - and yes there we were again on the Monday morning playing Cheshire - It was a fantastic sporting match which we eventually won 2-1 - well done to everyone!! Champions for the second time in three years!!!!
Under 19's football - Scott Carlile, Daniel Pilgrim, Aaron Newcombe, Ollie Newcombe, Josh Stevenson and Ben Chetwynd - knocked out in the semi finals but again very well done as they are a young team in this age group.
Tug o War - After last year's triumph we were there to retain the trophy but it wasn't to be but we still finished up runners up to the 2006 winners Derbyshire - well done to everyone who took part in a thrilling competition - we all enjoyed having a drink with all the Derbyshire members after the event which is what it is all about!!!
The fun run was great again - we had a few members running with some good results -

Andrea Pilgrim - first Notts woman, followed by Sam Yeomans and Jennie Guest
