Report and Photographs by Ian Storer and Sandra Purdy
Rally started
friday night although some vans arrived thursday evening. The marshals
were fantastic and even booked the sunshine for the weekend.
Friday night social started at 8pm and everyone settled into the newley
refurbished hall for what was going to be wicked entertainment. The
platforms were absolutely fantastic, make up and all, and had everyone
up on the dancefloor, some had put their fancydress on for the night
and looked really fabulous.
During the evening there was an auction in aid of The Chairmens charities
with a couple of Football tickets,a signed photo of nottingham forest
and a remote controlled helicopter.
On saturday activities were laid on for the children and some of us
wandered down to the riverside pub for a lazy afternoon, taking in the
Grandnational race while we were there (made a little more interesting
as a sweep had been run in aid of chairmans charities).
Saturday night a buffet had been laid on for all and the games began
and were hilarious. The youngsters had an air guitar competion and the
adults were treated to a few games on the nintendo wii.
An air guitar competition was also held for adults where the favourite
Mick Yeomans failed to impress the audience A game of roll the pound
at the whiskey bottle was held again for the charities and was won by
our chairman who kindly donated it back for auction.
Sunday at flag a raffle was held with various prizes. An excellent weekend
fantastically run by our marshals raised £555-75 for our Chairmans
charities.
