Notts Centre
5th Annual Beer Festival- Well weren't we lucky with the weather in the end - although cold at times the weather behaved itself when it needed to and how we managed to have no rain on Saturday afternoon/evening I do not know!!!! With just over 60 vans this year it promised to be busy again. The usual Friday night supper and quiz (thanks to Jane for doing this). Saturday morning saw everyone have their full english breakfast - the while thing ran like clockwork and weren't we pleased! Everyone arrived at 3.00 p.m. for their punch and it was nice to see all the different outfits. Although not as many bars this year we were still treated to a tremendous variety and I have never seen so many morrris dnacers in one place! A full three course sunday lunch was served, which again went like clockwork! Sunday evening started with Centre flag where Tom was rendered speechless when he was presented with a commemorative present from his visit to Nottingham Forest in March (for those of you who will remember Tom paid £200 for a VIP at the New year rally and all proceeds went to the Chairman's Charity). Congratulations to the winner this year - the Blue Oyster Bar - Paul, Richard, Lee, Grant and Ian. After flag everyone had nibbles and then a game of family fortunes and a game of Mr and Mrs. Monday morning saw the marquees being dismantled in double quick time! Thanks to everyone who helped over the weekend and we hope that you all enjoyed yourselves. Monday morning saw the usual taking down of the marquees - this seemed to be done in such a quick time because of all the help that was received. Thanks to everyone who gave the donations to their bar to the Chairman for his charities - (Portland College and Notts/Lincs Air Ambulance just in excess of £430.00 was raised. Ian and Diane Reid also brought teeshirts to sell and all proceeds were donated to the charity which was £305.00. Thanks to everyone for their generosity.
