Bowling & Quasar
Tenpin in Nottingham - Sunday 8th February 2009
Organised by sports team: Ian Pilgrim and Paul Hickling - not forgetting Andrea and Lisa

Well 60 people of varying ages turned up at the Tenpin (formerly Megabowl) on a lovely Sunday afternoon for the second year in succession. After getting their bowling shoes everyone was ready for action.

Nothing was too much trouble for the management and all the lanes already had the names of all the players in so we could start promptly. As usual some lanes were more competitive then others - Carrie Beasley seemed to do a lot of walking up and down to see what all the other women were scoring, all Richard was bothered about was beating Darren Pilgrim's score - which he did by three points! - and assistant sports officer Paul seemed to be quite at home looking after the youngsters who were playing - they actually took notice of him.

As the games were finishing the food appeared as if by magic and then it was time for quasar! A few of the younger ones had opted to have a second game of bowling last year but there was no stopping them this year as they didn't want to be left out and couldn't wait for the quasar to start. .

There were three time slots and the younger ones went in for the first game only Paul Wright, Paul Hickling and Ivor Winter seemed to be a bit out of place - did you want to make sure you won that one!! The second game was a mixture of all ages and the teenage boys seemed to enjoy the fact they were with a lot of the men and could try and compeete with them. I am sorry to say that Darren Pilgrim still seems to try and model himself on Ross Kemp in Ultimate Force and at one time was crawling along the floor - I am sure he thinks he is in the SAS sometimes. The third game was again a mixture of men and women and was as just as competitive.

Thanks to Ian, Andrea, Paul and Lisa and also to the staff at the venue because nothing was too much trouble.
The eventual winners were :
Bowling: Under 12 – Gabriel Williamson, Teenagers– Benjamin Chetwynd, Men - Ian Williamson,
Ladies - Carrie Beasley
Quasar: First Game – Kirstie Guest Second Game – Benjamin Chetwynd Third Game – John Guest
